Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with 6 travel trade companies participated in the Vakantiebeurs Holiday Fair 2010 held at Utrecht in the Netherlands from 12-17 January, 2010.
The Vakantiebeurs Holiday Fair 2010 is the largest consumer travel fair and the world’s largest trade event in the Benelux region. The main theme of the Holiday Fair 2010 was “Meet the locals” where the visitors had opportunities to meet with exhibitors and have first hand information.
According to an estimate, between 120,000-130,000 travel enthusiasts visited the fair of which 13,058 were trade visitors. The first day was exclusively reserved for the trade people.
During the fair, NTB organised a multimedia presentation for the visitors regarding overall Nepal’s tourism products and Nepal Tourism Fair.
After the multimedia presentation, a quiz programme was organised where the audiences were quizzed on Nepal’s tourism in order to generate curiosity among the potential visitors to Nepal.

The Pokhara Chapter of Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organizing the 11th edition of Nepal Open Paragliding Championship in Pokhara from February 18. "The three-day event has already become a major attraction in Nepal's tourism calendar. We are organizing the event to promote the adventure sports of paragliding and promote Pokhara as a hub for adventure tourism," a press statement issued by TAAN Pokhara Chapter stated.
The event is going to be participated by around 150 gliders and over 45,000 spectators. There will be six events and the top three finishers of each even would get attractive prices.
Various entertaining and colorful programs will be organized at Khapaudi the landing site for the gliders.
