Located in the laps of Himalayas, Muktinath is a religiously significant pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists. Literally meaning “place for the salvation”, this place is great for meditation. The temple is of Lord Shiva and includes a Buddhist monastery and the Jwala Mai temple, which contain a spring, and an eternal flame glowing by natural gas underground.
A young Brahmin pilgrim from Varanasi (Benaras) once characterized Muktinath "a super power station!" a place to recharge one’s spiritual (and physical) being.
“Muktinath – Celebrated Hindu Pilgrim” will take you to the places all on the way to Muktinath. You can not only cleanse your soul and attain mukti, salvation, through the worship of Vishnu at the holy site but also mesmerize yourself to the beauty of the place.
